Christmas Programs

This year, Benjamin and Anna's school Christmas program was November 28th, 2012.  Daddy took an approved "extended dinner break" so that he could come.  We sat so far back, all my pictures are pretty grainy, but I wanted to document their special night.

Here is Anna singing with all of the 1st grade classes from Baldwin Heights.

Here is Benjamin singing with all of the 2nd grade classes from Baldwin Heights.  It was fun this year, because Benjamin got more into the motions than he ever had previously.

Benjamin and Anna also had a song they sang during our church's Christmas program on December 16th, 2012.  Benjamin was standing behind a rather tall boy the majority of the time, so he is pretty tough to see.

Halloween 2012

The annual family Halloween costume party between myself, my brother, and sister Becky and our families was held at our house this year, October 27th, 2012.

This year, for Halloween, I decided to go with a theme that would work with a costume I already had, with the idea it would mean less money to spend.  So, I decided to utilize my Dorothy Gale from "The Wizard of Oz" costume again.  I made Tinman for Benjamin, Glinda the good witch for Anna (because she's much like a fairy princess), and the Cowardly Lion for Peter.  I decided to do the Scarecrow for Jason because it required very little sewing, all I needed was a hood and hat, plus a bit of raffia added to a shirt and pants he already had.

This year, we went to the Flat River Historical Museum for their Trick-or-Treating.

Downtown Trick-or-Treating.  It was VERY cold this year, so I didn't get the camera out much...my fingers were sort of numb and I didn't want to drop the camera!  Though, I thought for sure I had gotten more pictures than this.

Neighborhood Trick-or-Treating.  We didn't get out as soon as we would have liked, we were not ready at all by the time the siren sounded for the start of Trick-or-Treating...so, we didn't have time to pass out any candy, for which I felt bad.  We did cause a stir again this year with our family/matching costumes.  I saw a couple dressed as Jack Skelington and Sally from "The Nightmare Before Christmas", but other than them, we were the only matching/group costumes I saw.  Anna got a bunch of extra candy from one boy because he and his dad really liked her costume, especially when they realized it was part of a set!

After we went Trick-or-Treating in our neighborhood, we decided to try something new this year and go to the Oakfield Township fire barn.  I remembered huge parties with all sorts of fun games, cider and doughnuts, and fun stuff to do when we used to go to fire barn Halloween parties when I was a kid.  This was nothing like that.  :(  Jason & I were disappointed, but the kids loved climbing into one of the big fire trucks!  I think we impressed the firefighters that were there, because when our kids tried out the driver's seat, they put their seat belts on automatically!  It was so cute.
